We generally ship ground orders within 48 hours of placement of the order, Monday - Friday. Standard shipping time is 5-10 business days, depending on your location and barring complications such as adverse weather conditions or shipping delays as noted.

Yes, we do! We use USPS to ship to P.O. Boxes. If you have entered a P.O. Box, please make sure an additional street address line has NOT been entered.

Please Note: If both a P.O. Box and street address line have been entered, this will delay order delivery.

Every household iron is different, but we recommend starting with a medium temperature setting using a dry iron; do not use steam! You may have to adjust the temperature setting up or down depending on how the beads are fusing.

We iron our projects so that the outer edges of the beads fuse together, but the beads still have an open center. If you want to achieve the same look and you see that the center holes are closing up as you iron, turn the temperature down a bit. Using too high a temperature may also cause the pegboard to warp. On the other hand, if the edges of the beads aren’t fusing together, turn the temperature up a bit.

But hey, we get it—you want more tips and tricks for successful fusing, so here goes:

Before ironing your actual project, make a small “test patch” with a few extra beads so you can practice the timing, motion, and pressure needed for proper fusing. This also allows you to test the temperature of your iron before working on your project.

Always, always, always make sure you use ironing paper! Do not place your iron directly against the beads or pegboard.
Unfold the ironing paper and iron it to flatten/remove creases as much as possible. That way the entire surface of the ironing paper will lay flat against the beads when you iron your project.

Make sure to iron over all areas of the design evenly, including the edges, using a slow circular motion or back-and-forth motion. The heat from the iron will make the ironing paper become more transparent, so you should be able to see if the beads are fusing together. Adjust the temperature of your iron if necessary.

Use firm, even pressure but avoid pressing down too hard on the iron. Pressing too hard will flatten the beads or possibly knock off beads that are near the edges of the pegboard.

Don’t lift the ironing paper too quickly after ironing! If you don’t let it cool a bit, the beads may stick to the ironing paper as you lift it up. And when you do lift the paper, do it slowly. If a few beads stick to the paper, peel them off and put them back on the pegboard and iron those sections a bit more. The design will be flexible while it is warm but will stiffen and retain its shape as it cools.

We always recommend ironing both sides of the design to ensure proper fusion of the beads. If you are making a project for display, you may want to iron the “wrong” side of the project a little longer than the “right” side. That way the wrong side of the project will be well fused, but the right side will have a nice, clean finished appearance.

Perler beads are made from low density polyethylene (LDPE), a food-grade plastic that’s free of harmful chemicals.

Did you know, Perler Beads are recyclable? Please check with your local recycling program to determine if they will accept Perler beads for recycling. If planning to dispose of individual beads (as opposed to finished projects), be sure to ask if there are any specific requirements on how to submit them for recycling due to their small size. Go green and recycle today for a better tomorrow!

Yes, you can! But maybe not in a way you imagined, which is another reason why Perler beads are so awesome—they are versatile!

You can flatten Perler beads in an oven and use them to create jewelry, garlands, or other DIY projects. Adult supervision is required! Oven temperatures and times may vary. Some beads may melt faster than others, so make sure to supervise to avoid over-melting your beads.

Preheat oven to 400° F/ ~ 200° C.
Place beads upright on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Melt beads for about 2-3 minutes. Allow beads to cool completely before handling.
