Instructions
Step 1
Download/print the PDF for the project pattern. If you are using a clear pegboard, slide the actual-size patterns underneath it. Place your beads, following the patterns.
Step 2
You will also need:
Metal jump ring, _"
Grosgrain ribbon, black, _" wide x 6" long
Carabiner clip, 1_"
Small needle nose pliers
Craft glue
Step 3
Ask an adult to fuse your design. Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard and bead design. In a circular motion, begin to iron the design. When ironed properly, the beads will still have open centers. Let the design cool. Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.
Step 4
Remove the paper and bead design from the pegboard. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat the fusing. Let cool completely. Once the design is cool, peel off the ironing paper. Your pegboard and ironing paper are reusable. Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.
Step 5
Use the needle nose pliers to open the jump ring as explained on the pattern sheet. Attach the jump ring through the opening in the top of the bead design.
Step 6
Fold the ribbon around the jump ring and the carabiner clip, making the distance between the two the desired length. Use craft glue to secure and trim any excess ribbon.
