Instructions
Step 1
Download/print the PDF for the project pattern. If you are using a clear pegboard, slide the actual-size pattern underneath it. Place your beads, following the pattern.
Step 2
You will also need:
Jute twine, 36"
Tape
Hot glue tool/glue sticks
Step 3
Ask an adult to fuse your designs. Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard and bead design. In a circular motion, begin to iron the design. When ironed properly, the beads will still have open centers. Let the design cool.
Step 4
Remove the paper and bead design from the pegboard. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat the fusing. Let cool completely. Once the design is cool, peel off the ironing paper. Your pegboard and ironing paper are reusable. Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.
Step 5
Trim your photos to fit the frames, making sure they donŐt obscure the open holes along the sides of the frames. Tape the photos in place.
Step 6
Place the frames face down on your work surface in a vertical fashion. Fold the jute twine in half and lay the fold above the frames. Tape the fold to your work surface. Leaving a 4" gap between the fold and the top of the first frame, take the right half of the twine down through the first hole on the right side of the frame. Come up through the next hole, down through the next, and up through the last hole. Continue in the same fashion to weave the twine through the right side of the other two frames. Leave a 1" gap between each frame.
Step 7
Repeat with the other half of the twine on the left side of the frames.
Step 8
Hot glue the twine to the back of the bottom frame and trim any excess. You can also hot glue the twine to the back of the other frames in random spots to keep everything in place.
