Arrow and Hearts Wall Hanging

Arrow and Hearts Wall Hanging

Celebrate Valentine's Day with this cute piece of wall decor made with fuse beads.

Instructions

Step 1
Download/print the PDF for the project patterns. If you are using a clear pegboard, slide the actual-size patterns underneath it. Place your beads, following the patterns.

Step 2
You will also need:
Wooden dowel, _" thick x 10" long
Embroidery thread, light pink, 18 yds
3" x 3" piece of sturdy cardboard
Hot glue gun/glue sticks

Step 3
Ask an adult to fuse your design. Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard and bead design. In a circular motion, begin to iron the design. When ironed properly, the beads will still have open centers. Let the design cool. Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.

Step 4
Remove the paper and bead design from the pegboard. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat the fusing. Let cool completely. Once the design is cool, peel off the ironing paper. Your pegboard and ironing paper are reusable. Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.

Step 5
Use hot glue to attach the arrow components to the ends of the wooden dowel.

Step 6
Cut three (3) 36" lengths of embroidery thread. Fold each length in half and loop each one over the wooden dowel.

Step 7
Refer to the picture for the arrangement of the hearts on each thread hanger. Bring the loose ends of one of the thread hangers together and go down through the bead at the center top of the first heart. Come up through the bead at the center bottom. Continue to add the remaining hearts to the hanger. When you go down through the center top of the last heart, secure the ends of the thread on the back with hot glue and trim any excess. Repeat to add the hearts to the other two thread hangers.

Step 8
For each tassel you will need 4 yards of embroidery thread for the bundle, an 8" piece to tie the bundle, and a 10" piece for the wrap.

Step 9
To make the bundle, wrap the 4-yard piece around the 3" x 3" piece of cardboard. Slide the wrapped piece off the cardboard and tie together in the middle with the 8" piece. DonŐt trim the ends of the tie piece.

Step 10
Fold the ends of the bundle downward. Tightly wrap the 10" piece several times around the bundle about 1/2" below the tie and secure.

Step 11
Cut the ends of the bundle open and trim to the desired length.

Step 12
Take the ends of the tie and go down through the bead at the center bottom of the last heart. Knot or hot glue the tie ends on the back and trim any excess. Repeat to make and attach the other two tassels.

Step 13
Cut one (1) 36" length of embroidery thread. Follow the cording instructions on the pattern sheet to make a hanger.

Step 14
Hot glue the ends of the cording to the back of the arrow components to make a hanger of the desired length.
