Autumn Wreath

Autumn Wreath

Fall is in the air and this clothespin wreath accented with Perler bead flowers will be a welcoming accent to your door or wall.

Instructions

Step 1
Download/print the PDF for the project patterns. If you are using a clear pegboard, slide the actual-size pattern underneath it. Place your beads, following the pattern to make each flower.

Step 2
You will also need:
Wooden clothespins
Sturdy cardboard, 8" x 8"
Olive green cardstock, 6" x 6"
Brown chalk ink (optional)
Scoring tool (optional)
Craft glue
Scissors
Pencil
Ruler

Step 3
Ask an adult to fuse your designs. Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard and bead design. In a circular motion, begin to iron the design. When ironed properly, the beads will still have open centers. Let the design cool.

Step 4
Remove the paper and bead design from the pegboard. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat the fusing. Let cool completely. Once the design is cool, peel off the ironing paper. Your pegboard and ironing paper are reusable.

Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.

Step 5
Mark a 6" circle on the cardboard. Mark a 5-1/4" circle inside the first circle. Cut on both marked lines to make the wreath base.

Step 6
Attach the clothespins around the wreath base.

Step 7
Optional: Use the chalk ink to lightly stain the clothespins.

Step 8
Cut out the leaf template from the pattern sheet. Trace onto the cardstock to make 12 leaf shapes and cut them out.

Step 9
Optional: Use a scoring tool on each leaf shape to create veins.

Step 10
Bend each leaf shape in half slightly to give it dimension.

Step 11
Position the leaves and flowers on the wreath base. Glue in place.
