Butterfly House

Butterfly House

Welcome winged beauties to your garden with this pretty butterfly house made from Perler fuse beads.

Instructions

Step 1
Download/print the PDF for the project patterns. If you are using a clear pegboard, slide the actual-size pattern underneath it. Place your beads, following the patterns.

Step 2
You will also need:
Green floral wire, 6" length
Pliers/wire cutters

Step 3
Ask an adult to fuse your design. Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard and bead design. In a circular motion, begin to iron the design. When ironed properly, the beads will still have open centers. Let the design cool.

Step 4
Remove the paper and the bead design from the pegboard. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat the fusing. Let cool completely. Once the design is cool, peel off the ironing paper. Your pegboard and ironing paper are reusable.

Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.

Step 5
When all pieces are ironed, follow the assembly instructions on the pattern sheet.

Step 6
Fold the floral wire in half. Unfold partway to make a soft fold.

Step 7
Use the pliers to turn about _" at each end of the wire upward slightly. Slide each end through the plum bead that extends above the roof on each side of the house.

Step 8
Secure the wire by using the pliers to pinch the wire together around the bead on each side.
