Butterfly Thank You Card

Butterfly Thank You Card

Express your gratitude with this stylish Thank You card that features a colorful fuse bead butterfly.

Instructions

Step 1
Download/print the PDF for the project pattern. If you are using a clear pegboard, slide the actual-size patterns underneath it. Place your beads, following the patterns.

Step 2
You will also need:
Dk. olive cardstock, 12" x 12"
Opalescent green cardstock, 12" x 12"
Two coordinating patterned papers, 4" x 6" each
White cardstock, 3" x 1 _""
Envelope to fit 5 _" x 6 _" card
Craft glue
Double-sided tape
Ruler
Scissors

Step 3
Ask an adult to fuse your design. Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard and bead design. In a circular motion, begin to iron the design. When ironed properly, the beads will still have open centers. Let the design cool.

Step 4
Remove the paper and bead design from the pegboard. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat the fusing. Let cool completely. Once the design is cool, peel off the ironing paper. Your pegboard and ironing paper are reusable.

Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.

Step 5
Cut an 11" x 6 _" piece of the dk. olive cardstock. Fold in half to create a 5 _" x 6 _" side-folding card.

Step 6
Attach a 5 _" x 6 _" piece of the opalescent green cardstock to the center front of the card with double-sided tape.

Step 7
Refer to page 2 of the downloadable pattern sheet for instructions on cutting/folding the two patterned papers. After folding/cutting, slide the papers together and adhere to each other with double-sided tape.

Step 8
Trim the right edge of the white cardstock as shown in the image. Write Thank You on the cardstock. Optional: If you wish to use a computer/printer for the greeting, print it on the white cardstock before trimming to 3" x 1 _".

Step 9
Attach the white cardstock and the patterned papers to the card front with double-sided tape.

Step 10
Use a small amount of craft glue to attach the butterfly to the card.

Step 11
Note: If intending to mail the card, it may require additional postage due to thickness. ItŐs best to check with your local post office before mailing.
