Father's Day Card

Show your love and appreciation for dad and his grilling skills with this fun fuse bead Father's Day card.

Instructions

Step 1
Download/print the PDF for the project patterns. If you are using a clear pegboard, slide the actual-size pattern underneath it. Place your beads, following the patterns.

Step 2
You will also need:
Black cardstock, 12" x 12"
Gray cardstock, 12" x 12"
Brick red textured cardstock, 12" x 12"
White paper or cardstock, 8.5" x 11"
Envelope to fit a 4 _" x 6" card
Double-sided tape
Craft glue
Ruler
Scissors

Step 3
Ask an adult to fuse your designs. Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard and bead design. In a circular motion, begin to iron the design. When ironed properly, the beads will still have open centers. Let the design cool.

Step 4
Remove the paper and bead design from the pegboard. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat the fusing. Let cool completely. Once the design is cool, peel off the ironing paper. Your pegboard and ironing paper are reusable. Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.

Step 5
Cut a 9" x 6" piece of the black cardstock. Fold in half to create a 4 _" x 6" side-folding card.

Step 6
Cut a 4" x 5 _" rectangle from the gray cardstock. Use double-sided tape to attach to the card front, placing the left edge close to the card fold.

Step 7
Cut a 3 _" x 5" rectangle from the brick red cardstock. Use double-sided tape to attach to the gray rectangle, placing the left edge close to the left edge of the gray rectangle.

Step 8
Write the greeting on a 1 _" x 1 _" piece of the white paper. Optional: If you wish to use a computer/printer for the greeting, print it on the white paper before trimming to 1 _" x 1 _".

Step 9
Glue the grill pieces along the top and bottom of the white paper, then glue the entire assembly to the brick red cardstock.

Step 10
Glue the wheel to the bottom of the grill.

Note: If intending to mail the card, it may require additional postage due to thickness. ItŐs best to check with your local post office before mailing.
