Instructions
Step 1
Download/print the PDF for the project pattern. If you are using a clear pegboard, slide the actual-size pattern underneath it. Place your beads, following the pattern.
Step 2
You will also need:
Metal jump ring (1 per lure)
Jute cord, 4 lengths cut to 4" each
Woodgrain pattern paper, 12" x 12"
Frame and backing board
Craft glue
Flat-nose pliers
Step 3
Adult supervision is required to iron the completed designs. Follow the ironing instructions included in the pegboard package.
Step 4
Ask an adult to fuse your designs. Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard and bead design. In a circular motion, begin to iron the design. When ironed properly, the beads will still have open centers. Let the design cool.
Step 5
Remove the paper and bead design from the pegboard. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat the fusing. Let cool completely. Once the design is cool, peel off the ironing paper. Your pegboard and ironing paper are reusable.
Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.
Step 6
Attach a hook to each lure with a jump ring. Use flat-nose pliers to grasp and open the jump ring. Open the ring by twisting the ends in opposite directions. DonŐt pull outward to separate the ends! Close the ring by twisting the ends back together.
Step 7
Slide the end of a piece of jute cord through the upper bead hole in each lure and secure the cord on the back of the lure with craft glue.
Step 8
Cut pattern paper to fit frame and backing board. Secure pattern paper to backing board using a small dab of glue in each corner.
Step 9
Glue fishing lures to the pattern paper and secure assembly in the frame.
