Instructions
Step 1
Download/print the PDF for the project patterns. If you are using a clear pegboard, slide the actual-size patterns underneath it. Place your beads, following the patterns.
Step 2
You will also need:
Kraft or butcher paper, 10" x 10" square
Twine or ribbon, 12" length
Step 3
Ask an adult to fuse your designs. Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard and bead design. In a circular motion, begin to iron the design. When ironed properly, the beads will still have open centers. Let the design cool.
Step 4
Remove the paper and bead design from the pegboard. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat the fusing. Before allowing the flower petals and leaves to cool, carefully bend them upward slightly to create a soft curve. Use caution when handling the warm pieces. Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required. Your pegboard and ironing paper are reusable.
Step 5
Slide the flower petals and leaves onto a stem as shown in the diagram on the pattern sheet. Tip: If the center opening in the petals or leaves closes up during the ironing process, insert the closed tweezer tips into the opening and gently twist to enlarge the opening.
Step 6
Arrange the flowers inside the kraft/butcher paper.
Step 7
Tie together with a bow, using the twine or ribbon.
