Garden Party Favor

Garden Party Favor

This charming favor made from Perler fuse beads is the perfect addition to a place setting for garden parties or bridal showers.

Instructions

Step 1
Download/print the PDF for the project pattern. If you are using a clear pegboard, slide the actual-size pattern underneath it. Place your beads, following the pattern. Note: Make and iron the top piece last. You will need to shape that piece by carefully bending the spokes downward and inserting into the base while the piece is still warm as explained in step 5. Use caution when handling the warm piece.

Step 2
Ask an adult to fuse your design. Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard and bead design. In a circular motion, begin to iron the design. When ironed properly, the beads will still have open centers. Let the design cool. Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.

Step 3
Remove the paper and bead design from the pegboard. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat the fusing. Let cool completely. Once the design is cool, peel off the ironing paper. Your pegboard and ironing paper are reusable. Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.

Step 4
Insert the floral bouquet into the center opening of the base.

Step 5
After bending the spokes downward on the top piece while it is still warm, add a floret to each spoke, then insert the spokes into the remaining openings in the base.

Step 6
Insert the finial into the opening in the center of the top piece.
