Grateful Card

Grateful Card

Share your gratitude with friends and family with a card accented with Perler fuse bead designs in rich fall colors.

Instructions

Step 1
Download/print the PDF for the project patterns. If you are using a clear pegboard, slide the actual-size patterns underneath it. Place your beads, following the patterns.

Step 2
You will also need:
Cardstock, ivory textured, 12" x 12"
Cardstock, kraft corrugated, 12" x 12"
Cardstock, woodgrain print, 12" x 12"
ĽCardstock, winter white, small scrap
Jute twine, 8" length
Craft marking pen, brown
Double-sided tape
Craft glue
Foam adhesive squares

Step 3
Ask an adult to fuse your design. Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard and bead design. In a circular motion, begin to iron the design. When ironed properly, the beads will still have open centers. Let the design cool.

Step 4
Remove the paper and bead design from the pegboard. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat the fusing. Let cool completely. Once the design is cool, peel off the ironing paper. Your pegboard and ironing paper are reusable.

Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.

Step 5
Cut a 10" x 7" piece from the ivory cardstock. Fold in half to create a 5" x 7" side-folding card.

Step 6
Cut a 1/2" x 7" piece from the woodgrain cardstock and a 2" x 7" piece from the kraft cardstock.

Step 7
Glue the woodgrain cardstock behind the left edge of the kraft cardstock so that about 1/8" of the woodgrain cardstock is showing.

Step 8
Glue the layered cardstock pieces to the right side of the card front.

Step 9
Arrange and glue the bead designs to the card front.

Step 10
Cut a 1-5/8" x 3" piece of the winter white cardstock. Notch the four corners.

Step 11
Add the sentiment and decorative border with the brown pen, then attach to the card using the foam adhesive squares.

Step 12
Tie a small bow with the jute twine. Glue to the bead designs as shown. Trim ends if necessary. Note: If intending to mail the card, it may require additional postage due to thickness. It's best to check with your local post office before mailing.
