Step 2
CREATING THE DESIGN:
Download the PDF for the Halloween Candy Dish Project Pattern. Cut and tape the pattern sections together. If you are using a clear pegboard, slide the actual-size pattern underneath it. Place your beads as shown.
Step 3
FUSING THE DESIGN: An adult should do this step. TIP: For best results, fuse the first side lightly and the second side well.
For this project, you might like to use our Tape Method for Fusing Large Projects (you can find it here on Perler.com under Projects & Inspiration). Be sure to note the tip above. After fusing and while the beads are still warm, pull the "wing" edges up and hold with a rubber band until cool. If you are more comfortable with our standard fusing instructions, please continue below.
Be sure you have placed one of the large cardboard pieces underneath the pegboards. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the design. In a circular motion, begin to iron the project. Do not press down with the iron. As the beads begin to fuse, you will see circles of the beads start to show through the paper. Fuse this side lightly, then let the design cool. NOTE: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly, it is possible some colors may need a little more time.
Remove the paper and bead design from the pegboard. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat step two but fuse well. While the beads are still warm, pull the "wing" edges up and hold in place with the large rubber band. Let cool completely. Your pegboard and ironing paper are reusable.
