Instructions

Step 1
BEAD COLORS NEEDED:
Pink - 347
Prickly Pear - 410
Black (3 bags) - 2074
White (2 bags) - 1505

YOU WILL ALSO NEED:
3 large square pegboards
Iron and ironing paper
Tweezers
Can, approx. 5.375" diameter
Strong rubber bands
Hot glue gun
Heavy cord for hangers
See the Supply List for beads and tools you can purchase.

Step 2
CREATING THE DESIGN:
Download the PDF for the Hanging Planters Project Pattern. Connect the three boards horizontally. If you are using clear pegboards, slide the actual-size pattern underneath them. Place your beads as shown.

Step 3
FUSING THE DESIGN: For this project, you will fuse ONE SIDE ONLY, and while the beads are still warm you will wrap the design around the can. An adult should do this step.
Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the design. In a circular motion, begin to iron the project. When ironed properly, the beads will still have open centers. NOTE: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly, it is possible some colors may need a little more time.

Remove the paper from the bead design. When the beads are fused and are still warm, wrap the piece with the fused side to the inside, around the can and hold in place with rubber bands until cool. Your pegboards and ironing paper are reusable.

Step 4
ASSEMBLY:
Hot glue the side to the base, and close the side opening with glue as well.Use the cording to make hangers for the planters. You can lay 4 lengths together and knot at both ends. You can also add extra knots macrame-style as shown.
