Step 1

You will also need:
Cardstock - dark green, teal
Paper - yellow-green print, white
Quick-drying adhesive
Adhesive tape runner
Clear adhesive dots
Thin cord
Paper trimmer
Gold metallic marker

Step 2
Download the PDF for the Happy Holly Days Card Project Pattern. You will use the large hexagon pegboard for your project. If you are using a clear pegboard, slide the actual-size pattern underneath it. Place your beads following the pattern.

Step 3
Ask an adult to fuse your designs. Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard. In a circular motion, begin to iron the project. When ironed properly, the beads will still have open centers. DO NOT OVER-IRON as this will cause the beads to close and can make assembly of your project more challenging. Let the design cool.

Step 4
Remove the paper and bead design from the pegboard. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat the fusing. Let cool completely. Once the design is cool, peel off the ironing paper. Your pegboards and ironing paper are reusable.

Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.

Step 5
ASSEMBLY: Use the quick-drying adhesive to glue the holly berries and bow in place over the holly.

Step 6
Fold a 11 x 7 inch piece of dark green cardstock in half to make a side-folding card.

Step 7
Cut a 4 3/4 x 6 3/8 inch piece of yellow-green print paper and attach it to the center of the card front with the tape runner.

Step 8
Add a 4 1/4 x 6 inch piece of teal cardstock over the yellow-green print.

Step 9
Attach a hanger with thin cord. Position your Perler holly design as shown and attach it with clear adhesive dots. This will enable the design to be detached and used as an ornament by the one receiving the card.

Step 10
Write the Happy Holly Days message on the card front with a gold metallic pen.

Step 11
Cut and attach a 4 1/2 x 6 inch piece of white paper for the inside of the card to continue your holiday message.
