Instructions
Step 1
Download/print the PDF for the project patterns. If you are using a clear pegboard, slide the actual-size pattern underneath it. Place your beads, following the patterns.
Step 2
You will also need:
Glitter cardstock, gold, 12" x 12"
Glitter cardstock, black, 12" x 12"
Ribbon, black, 1/8" wide, 9 yards
Craft glue
Scissors
Step 3
Ask an adult to fuse your designs. Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard and bead design. In a circular motion, begin to iron the design. When ironed properly, the beads will still have open centers. Let the design cool.
Step 4
Remove the paper and bead design from the pegboard. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat the fusing. Let cool completely. Once the design is cool, peel off the ironing paper. Your pegboard and ironing paper are reusable.
Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.
Step 5
Using the template on the pattern sheet, cut 12 pennants from the gold cardstock.
Step 6
Cut the ribbon into 3 equal pieces.
Step 7
With the pennants wrong side up, position the correct number of pennants for each word. Glue a piece of ribbon to each set of pennants along the top edge.
Step 8
Flip the pennants over and glue the letters in place.
Step 9
Using the star templates on the pattern sheet, cut and layer stars from both cardstocks to use as accents on the banner.
Step 10
Trim ribbon ends to desired length.
