Lion Head Wall DeŽcor

Lion Head Wall DeŽcor

This fuse bead lion head accented with raffia makes a great safari-themed accent for your room.

Instructions

Step 1
Download/print the PDF for the project pattern. If you are using a clear pegboard, slide the actual-size patterns underneath it. Place your beads, following the patterns.

Step 2
You will also need:
Raffia, natural
Cardboard, cut into two 4" circles
Craft glue or hot glue (optional: double-sided tape)
Marker or pencil

Step 3
Ask an adult to fuse your designs. Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard and bead design. In a circular motion, begin to iron the design. When ironed properly, the beads will still have open centers. Let the design cool.

Step 4
Remove the paper and bead design from the pegboard. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat the fusing. Let cool completely. Once the design is cool, peel off the ironing paper. Your pegboard and ironing paper are reusable. Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.

Step 5
Mark the center of one of the cardboard circles.

Step 6
Cut the raffia into pieces that are approximately 5"-6" in length. Working from the center mark out, use glue or double-sided tape to secure the raffia pieces around the circle.

Step 7
Glue the second cardboard circle on top to sandwich the raffia between the two circles, then glue the lion head on top.

Step 8
Optional hanger- Cut an 8" length of the raffia. Fold in half and secure the ends to the back of the design.
