Skating Santa Wreath

Skating Santa Wreath

Skate into the holiday season with this fuse bead Santa and add a whimsical touch to your décor.

Instructions

Step 1
Download/print the PDF for the project patterns. If you are using a clear pegboard, slide the actual-size patterns underneath it. Place your beads, following the patterns.

Step 2
You will also need:
Brass hexagon-shaped rings, 6", qty 2
Thin gold wire, cut into four (4) 8" pieces
Hot glue tool/glue sticks
Live or faux pine sprig
Jute twine, 8" length
Mini pinecones
Wire cutter

Step 3
Ask an adult to fuse your design. Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard and bead design. In a circular motion, begin to iron the design. When ironed properly, the beads will still have open centers. Let the design cool. Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.

Step 4
Remove the paper and bead design from the pegboard. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat the fusing. Let cool completely. Once the design is cool, peel off the ironing paper. Your pegboard and ironing paper are reusable. Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.

Step 5
Stack the rings, rotating the top one so the points are at different angles. Use the pieces of gold wire to secure the rings together.

Step 6
Secure the Santa to the rings using a small amount of hot glue.

Step 7
Attach the pine sprig and pinecones with a small amount of hot glue.
