Instructions
Step 1
Download/print the PDF for the project pattern. If you are using a clear pegboard, slide the actual-size pattern underneath it. Place your beads, following the pattern.
Step 2
You will also need:
Black lightweight sheer fabric or cheesecloth, 9" x 9"
Purple yarn or string, 12" length
Black string or thread, 8" length
Step 3
Ask an adult to fuse your designs. Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard and bead design. In a circular motion, begin to iron the design. When ironed properly, the beads will still have open centers. Let the design cool.
Step 4
Remove the paper and bead design from the pegboard. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat the fusing. Let cool completely. Once the design is cool, peel off the ironing paper. Your pegboard and ironing paper are reusable.
Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.
Step 5
Fray the outer edges of the fabric.
Step 6
Find the center of the fabric. Cut an opening in the fabric just large enough to slide the fabric onto the ŇpinÓ at the bottom of the witch's head.
Step 7
Once the fabric is in place, slide the base piece onto the pin to secure the fabric to the witchŐs head.
Step 8
Use the purple yarn/string to tie a small bow around the base of the head.
Step 9
Create a hanger with the black thread/string. Slide the thread through a hole at the top of the witchŐs hat and tie a knot. Trim any excess.
