Instructions
Step 1
Download/print the PDF for the project patterns. If you are using a clear pegboard, slide the actual-size pattern underneath it. Place your beads, following the patterns. Make as many flowers as desired for your bouquet.
Step 2
You will also need:
Basket (hanging or tabletop style)
Floral foam
Bamboo skewers, 1 per flower
Hot glue gun with glue sticks
Step 3
Ask an adult to fuse your design. Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard and bead design. In a circular motion, begin to iron the design. When ironed properly, the beads will still have open centers. Let the design cool. Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.
Step 4
Remove the paper and bead design from the pegboard. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat the fusing. Before allowing the middle and bottom layers of the flowers to cool, carefully shape those pieces over a small ball (roughly the size of a tennis ball) to create a soft curve. Use caution when handling the warm pieces.
Step 5
Let the design cool completely. Your pegboard and ironing paper are reusable.
Step 6
Assemble each flower as shown in the instructions.
Step 7
Cut a bamboo skewer to the desired length. Attach the skewer to the back of the flower using hot glue.
Step 8
Secure the floral foam in the basket.
Step 9
Arrange the flowers in the basket.
