Sunrise Hoop

Sunrise Hoop

Adding a fuse bead design to a wooden hoop is a simple way to create trendy décor. This pretty sunrise design will brighten any room.

Instructions

Step 1
Download/print the PDF for the project patterns. If you are using a clear pegboard, slide the actual-size pattern underneath it. Place your beads, following the patterns.

Step 2
You will also need:
Wooden hoop, 8"
Embroidery thread, ivory, 1 yd
Satin ribbon, _" wide x 14" length, desired color
Craft glue or hot glue gun

Step 3
Ask an adult to fuse your designs. Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard and bead design. In a circular motion, begin to iron the design. When ironed properly, the beads will still have open centers. Let the design cool.

Step 4
Remove the paper and bead design from the pegboard. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat the fusing. Let cool completely. Once the design is cool, peel off the ironing paper. Your pegboard and ironing paper are reusable. Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.

Step 5
Separate the rings on the hoop. Cut the embroidery thread into four equal pieces.

Step 6
Glue the end of one thread piece to the outside of the inner ring. Take the other end through one of the three beads at the top of the design (indicated by an x) and back up around the ring, leaving a 1" gap between the ring and the design. Wrap two more times by going through the other two beads marked by an x. End off by gluing the thread to the outside of the ring and trim any excess.

Step 7
Attach the other three sides of the design to the ring in the same way.

Step 8
Place the outer ring on top of the inner ring, centering the screw closure at the center top of the design.

Step 9
Cut a 13" piece of the ribbon and lace through the opening in the screw closure of the hoop. Tie the ends in a knot to make a hanger. Wrap the remaining 1" of ribbon around the hanger approximately _" above the fold. Secure loose end with glue and trim any excess.
