Sunshine Mirror

Sunshine Mirror

Create a layered fuse bead wall hanging that includes a small mirror on one side. This sunny design is perfect for hanging in your bedroom or even a school locker.

Instructions

Step 1
Download/print the PDF for the project patterns. If you are using a clear pegboard, slide the actual-size patterns underneath it. Place your beads, following the patterns.

Step 2
You will also need:
Mirror, 3" round (Option: Use a sheet of mylar cut into a 3" circle).
Black cord or string, 12" length
Craft glue

Step 3
Ask an adult to fuse your designs. Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard and bead design. In a circular motion, begin to iron the design. When ironed properly, the beads will still have open centers. Let the design cool.

Step 4
Remove the paper and bead design from the pegboard. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat the fusing. Let cool completely. Once the design is cool, peel off the ironing paper. Your pegboard and ironing paper are reusable.

Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.

Step 5
Glue the small sun face to one of the large sun pieces.

Step 6
Attach the ends of the cord or string to the back of that same large sun piece to make a hanger.

Step 7
Glue the other sun piece to the back of the first one, sandwiching the hanger in between the layers.

Step 8
Glue the mirror to the back sun piece.
