Instructions
Step 1
Bead Colors Needed:
Light Pink - 3
Black - 18
Rod Color Needed:
White - 91
NOTE: You will need 3 packs of the Beads 'n Rods Industrial color mix to create all three lambs. See the Supply List for beads and tools you can purchase.
You will also need:
1/4 inch wide ribbon: pink, yellow, and aqua
Craft glue
Step 2
Download the PDF for the Sweet Lambs Project Pattern. This design uses a combination of beads and rods. When using beads and rods together on the pegboard, BOTH are placed BETWEEN the pegs. When using just beads, position them on the pegs as usual. Place your beads and rods on the pegboard as shown. If you are using a clear pegboard, slide the actual-size pattern underneath it.
Step 3
Ask an adult to fuse your designs. The lambs' bodies should be ironed ON ONE SIDE ONLY so the rods stay rounded on the front. While the beads are still warm, the bodies will be shapedÑsee Step 3 below. The lambs' heads should be fused on both sidesÑfor these, skip Step 5 and proceed to Step 6.
Step 4
Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard. Press the iron gently for 5-10 seconds, then begin to iron In a circular motion. As the beads begin to fuse, you will see circles of the beads start to show through the paper. When ironed properly, the beads will still have an open center.
Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.
Step 5
Allow a few seconds for the beads to cool just enough to be touchedÑthey should be warm, not hot. Remove the paper and bend the fused side of the lamb's body over a fat marker and hold it for a minute until it cools into this shape. This completes the lambs' bodies.
Step 6
For the lambs' heads, allow the piece to cool, then flip the design over to expose the unfused side. Place ironing paper over the project and LIGHTLY fuse the beads again. Let cool completely.
Step 7
ASSEMBLY: Insert the heads into the slots in the bodies and secure with glue if needed. Tie ribbon into a bow around each lamb's neck.
