Tile Wall Hooks

Tile Wall Hooks

Create some trendy tile designs with Perler fuse beads and turn them into wall hooks—a fun project that’s both stylish and functional!

Instructions

Step 1
Download/print the PDF for the project pattern. If you are using a clear pegboard, slide the actual-size pattern underneath it. Place your beads, following the pattern.

Step 2
You will also need:
Metal hook, 3.5" long, 1 for each design
Wood square, _" thick, cut to 3.25" x 3.25", 1 for each design (your local home improvement store will cut to size)
Sawtooth hanger, 1 for each design
Craft glue
Ruler
Pencil
Tools for attaching hook and sawtooth hanger to wood block

Step 3
Ironing should be done by an adult only. Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard. In a circular motion, begin to iron the project. When ironed properly, the beads will still have open centers. Let the design cool.

Step 4
Remove the paper and bead design from the pegboard. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat the fusing. Let cool completely. Once the design is cool, peel off the ironing paper. Your pegboard and ironing paper are reusable.

Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.

Step 5
Use the ruler and pencil to draw a line down the vertical center on the back of the block.

Step 6
Attach the metal hook near the bottom of the block, using the center line as a guide for placement.

Step 7
Attach the sawtooth hanger near the top of the block, using the center line as a guide for placement.

Step 8
Glue the tile design to the front side of the wood block.
