Cardstock to make cards
Paper trimmer or scissors
Thick craft glue
Journaling pen (optional)
See the Supply List for beads and tools you can purchase.

Step 2
CREATING THE DESIGN:
Download the PDF for the Valentine Cards Project Pattern. If you are using clear pegboards, slide the actual-size patterns underneath them. Place your beads as shown.

Step 3
FUSING THE DESIGN: An adult should do this step.
Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard. In a circular motion, begin to iron the project. When ironed properly, the beads will still have open centers. NOTE: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly, it is possible some colors may need a little more time. Let the design cool.

Remove the paper and bead design from the pegboard. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat the fusing. Let cool completely. When the design is cool, peel off the ironing paper. Your pegboards and ironing paper are reusable.

Step 4
ASSEMBLY:
Cut your cardstock to the desired size for the card base and fold in half for a top-folding or side-folding card.

Cut a panel in a contrasting color of cardstock that is 1/4" small all around than the card front.

Decide which bead designs you want to put on your card and the message you want to write. Try different layouts or follow the photo. Pen your message, or print it with your computer in a fun font. Glue the panel to the card front, then glue the bead designs in place.
