Instructions
Step 1
Download/print the PDF for the project patterns. If you are using a clear pegboard, slide the actual-size patterns underneath it. Place your beads, following the patterns.
Step 2
Ask an adult to fuse your designs. Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard and bead design. In a circular motion, begin to iron the design. When ironed properly, the beads will still have open centers. Let the design cool.
Step 3
Remove the paper and bead design from the pegboard. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat the fusing. Let cool completely. Once the design is cool, peel off the ironing paper. Your pegboard and ironing paper are reusable. Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.
Step 4
Iron the lid components and the side pieces before ironing the bottom piece.
Step 5
Assemble the lid as shown and set aside.
Step 6
Iron the bottom piece. Before it cools, carefully curve it to the shape of one of the side pieces and snap the side piece into place.
Step 7
Attach the opposite side piece to the curved bottom piece.
Step 8
Hold in place until the bottom piece cools and everything is secure.
