Instructions
Step 1
Download/print the PDF for the project patterns. If you are using a clear pegboard, slide the actual-size patterns underneath it. Place your beads, following the patterns. For the watering can, you will need to connect the four pegboards together to form a large square.
Step 2
You will also need:
Black foamcore or corrugated cardboard, 8" x 1"
Plastic push pins or small metal cup hooks, qty 4
Sawtooth picture hangers, qty 2
Craft glue or electric hot glue gun
Step 3
Ask an adult to fuse your designs. Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard and bead design. In a circular motion, begin to iron the design. When ironed properly, the beads will still have open centers. Let the design cool.
Step 4
Remove the paper and bead design from the pegboard. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat the fusing. Let cool completely. Once the design is cool, peel off the ironing paper. Your pegboard and ironing paper are reusable.
Note: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Additional heating time may be required.
Step 5
Glue the foamcore or cardboard to the back side of the wrench.
Step 6
Glue the push pins or cup hooks in place.
Step 7
Glue the sawtooth picture hangers to the back side of the design, placing one near each end. Allow glue to dry thoroughly before hanging keys.
